Encouraging Robotics During Quarantine

During our time maintaining social distancing, Absolute Zero has been encouraging young students in robotics to persist in solving their EV3 challenges. We are conducting an unofficial World Robotics Olympiad competition for 2020 planned for June 7th, 2020 for both the Elementary and Junior WRO categories.

The rules that we have put together for the competition can be found here.

For our unofficial competition, we have eliminated the randomization element of each categories’ challenge to allow teams to focus on a single program that they can put their best work in.

In the 4 weeks prior to the competition, we will be holding workshops for the competition. In these workshops, we will discuss game strategies, and participants will be able to ask questions. The workshop presentation will be streamed on YouTube and will then be published. The schedule is as follows:

Elementary Workshop #1: Sunday, May 10th 3:00pm – 4:00pm
Junior Workshop #1: Sunday, May 17th 3:00pm – 4:00pm
Elementary Workshop #2: Sunday, May 24th 3:00pm – 4:00pm
Junior Workshop #2: Sunday, May 31st 3:00pm – 4:00pm

Please register for our online workshops here.

To register for our June 7th competition, please use this link. On this form, we ask for a $10 registration fee to be paid here, which will be donated to COVID-19 relief efforts.
